Terrible, Horrible No-Good February!

So, my best friend… THE Paige Fairchild has been posting about the month of February and trying to make the best of a terrible* month. I am not sure when this hatred began, for either of us, but there are many reasons for it! However, as Paige has found, there is always a little ray of sunshine in February.

My ray of sunshine is that we are officially leaving for Morocco in 21 days = 3 weeks = app. 504 hours = NUTS!! It seems like there is still so much to do!!

However, in the midst of all of the craziness, there still needs to be a pause for reflection. It has been super crazy in the past couple of years and a little difficult to make room to think about the important aspects in life. But with the road trip and the last couple of days, I have been reminded what family means.

My March will begin with a memorial service to my late uncle– whose memory over the past 6 months has prompted me to think about how short life can be and how precious each moment is. As I re-read the Peace Corps handbook and the prominent message that struck me was how dependent our success would be on our initiative and integration into the community, once again reemphasizing how valuable the time in training and with our host family will be to our actual service.

Definitely something to think about.
